President Museveni and Maama Janet host the 2025 Diwali Festival at State House Entebbe

President Yoweri Museveni and the First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni hosted the 2025 Diwali Festival, also known as the Festival of Lights celebrations, at State House Entebbe on Sunday, October 26, 2025. 

During the function, President Museveni commended the Indian Community for their positive contribution towards Uganda’s Economy. 

The President commended the Indian Community for shielding Uganda’s economy through investment in industry and services.  

The 1995 Constitution adopted

President Museveni gives a copy of the new Constitution to Hajji Moses Kigongo immediately after receiving three copies of it on October 8, 1995.

The current 1995 constitution replaced a series of previous constitutions and consolidated the nation's legal framework after a period of instability. Uganda has had four constitutions since independence, with the 1995 version being the most current and established a republic with distinct executive, legislative, and judicial branches.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential flag bearer, today unveiled ambitious development plans for Karamoja, including the construction of an international airport in Kidepo, comparable in scale to Entebbe.

Museveni campaigns in Kotido

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, on Monday October 27, 2025, held his campaign rally in Kotido District at Lomukura Primary School, Kotido Central Division in Kotido Municipality.

President Museveni began his address by commending the people of Karamoja for embracing peace and supporting government efforts to disarm the region.

Museveni rides a bicycle

President Museveni rode a bicycle at his Kawumu Presidential Demonstration Farm in Luweero, Uganda, as part of his anti-poverty campaign and efforts to promote wealth creation on February 17, 2018. The bicycle was used for practical purposes like collecting grass for mulching and fetching water for manual irrigation, demonstrating a hands-on approach to farming as a message to leaders and a way to boost household incomes and food security.

Museveni rode a boda boda to his presidential nomination at Kololo, which he later explained was to easily weave through the mammoth crowds of his supporters in order to be on time.
