On May 12, 2016, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was sworn in for a Fifth term in office at the Kololo Independence Grounds. The oath was administered by the then Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, assisted by the Chief Registrar of Courts Paul Gadenya as thousands cheered on.
"I, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni swear in the name of the Almighty God that I shall faithfully exercise the functions of the President
of the Republic of Uganda. Uphold, preserve, protect and defend the constitution, and observe the laws of Uganda, and I shall
promote the welfare of the people of Uganda, so help me God," Museveni said.
