On 15th September, 2024 President Yoweri Museveni together with his household, religious leaders and a mass of audience including political leaders celebrated his 80th birthday at Kijaguzo in Nakaseke district. The family of Mzee Amosi Kaguta and Esteeri Kokundeka received a bundle of joy that would later be a blessing to the entire nation on 15th September, 1944 in a hospital located in Mbarara. As a child, Museveni grew up closer to parents and his dear great grandmother Nyinacweende who narrated to him stories and also cared much about him. His father was a cattle keeper so the young Museveni used to join him to look after the kraal where he also adopted a life time love for cattle keeping.

One of his childhood memories was when he was looking after cattle together with his father and he put a stick inside the hole made by aunts but in the process, he was distracted by looking at cows and unknowingly, there was a snake inside when he again looked down he saw a small slender snake aggressively standing up from the hole trying to react, he quickly withdrew his stick and run away, however, he did not tell his father because he would be beaten. He later grew up into a politician, freedom fighter and Pan Africanist that has greatly shaped Uganda and  contributed to the liberation of other African countries.
