In Febuary 2011, the Electoral Commission chairman, Badru Kiggundu, announced Museveni's victory with 68.38 percent of the votes, putting him way ahead of the national average needed to secure victory in the presidential elections. He was later sworn in as the President of the Republic of Uganda on 5th May hence begining his forth term in office.
The swearing in ceremony was witnessed by eight African Presidents and other states representatives among the Ugandan crowd at Kololo Independence Ground.This event showed Museveni’s strong position in Uganda’s politics and highlighted his role in regional leadership and the country’s journey to peace and growth.
