In April 1979, after the fall of Idi Amin, Museveni moved back to Uganda from Exile in Tanzania and served as the defence minister after being appointed under a caretaker government led by Yusuf Lule after the overthrow of Idi Amin. However, Yusuf Lule’s government was short-lived.
