Manifesto launch

On September 29, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially launched the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Manifesto for the 2026/2031 term, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The event was attended by Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, senior NRM officials, and party leaders. The theme of the manifesto is “Protecting the Gains and Securing a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.” This theme resonates with the NRM historic mission of granting Ugandans peace and stability.

During the launch, President Museveni emphasized the NRM's historical role in Uganda's liberation and expressed gratitude for being re-elected as the party's National Chairman for the 2025/2031 term and as the flag bearer for the 2026 presidential elections. He addressed the five structures of the manifesto theme which included development of social and economic infrastructure, wealth creation, jobs, service delivery, that is provision of health care, security, crime prevention among others, he further informed the audience about how marketing for goods and services would be acquired, and also talked about having a strategic army based on Easter African integration.

President Museveni emphasized the need to fully monetize Uganda's economy by turning every Ugandan into a producer of goods or services. He also highlighted the government's commitment to safeguarding the country's achievements and accelerating its progress toward high middle-income status. The launch of the NRM manifesto sets a clear roadmap for Uganda’s continued growth, stability, and economic empowerment over the coming five years.
