On September 29, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially launched the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Manifesto for the 2026/2031 term, at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The event was attended by Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, senior NRM officials, and party leaders. The theme of the manifesto is “Protecting the Gains and Securing a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status.” This theme resonates with the NRM historic mission of granting Ugandans peace and stability.

President Museveni was officially nominated as a presidential candidate for the 2026 election on 23 September 2025 at the Electoral Commission offices in Lubowa for his seventh term in office ahead of the 2026 general elections.
