Museveni receives heroic welcome in Kazo, unveils NRM’s 40-year achievements and new commitments for the district  

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday November 28, 2025 received a heroic welcome in Kazo district where thousands of jubilant supporters gathered as he continued his campaign trail across the Ankole Sub-region.

Accompanied by the First Daughter, Mrs. Patience Rwabwogo Museveni, the President addressed the rally with a detailed breakdown of the NRM’s achievements over the past 40 years and the commitments contained in the 2026–2031 NRM Manifesto.

Museveni and First Lady Janet rally Ntungamo to back NRM in 2026 general elections

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, was on Thursday November 27, 2025 received by thousands of supporters at Kyamate Secondary School grounds in Ntungamo District.

The rally focused on the presentation of the 2026-2031 NRM manifesto and intensifying mobilisation ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Joins Ntare School

After two years of junior secondary one and two at Mbarara high school, President Museveni later joined Ntare School in 1961 on a bursary from the Ankole Kingdom Government, however, he was required to pay shs 270 to top up on the money paid for him which was about Shs 520 full cost paid per annum. For the first time Mzee was able to pay his school fees through the money he had deposited at the bank. 

Museveni honoured with a monument

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was honoured with a monument for his immense contribution towards the development of the Greater Ankole region. The monument was erected in Rushere Town Council, Kiruhura District by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Engineers. Museveni started his journey on developing Ankole even before becoming the Ugandas President, in his youthful age, he moblised cattle keeper by sensitising them to stop practicing nomadism but rather embrace other best practices of carrying out cattle keeping in one area and improve their livehoods.
