President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his Kenyan counterpart William Samoei Ruto on Sunday November 23, 2025, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony of USD 500 million Devki Mega Steel Plant in Kayoro Village, Osukuru County, Tororo District, marking the start of one of East Africa’s most ambitious industrial investments.

The vertically integrated steel facility, developed by Kenyan industrialist Dr. Narendra Raval (Guru) of the Devki Group, will employ 15,000 Ugandans in Tororo and Mbarara at commencement.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, on Friday November 7, 2025, met with Mr. Guang Cong, the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, at Mbale State Lodge, where the two leaders held in-depth discussions on regional security, the Nile River disputes, and broader geopolitical challenges affecting the Horn of Africa.

President Yoweri Kaguta Musevenion Sunday November 9, 2025, met and held high-level discussions with the United States of America Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. William W. Popp, at Mbale State Lodge.

The two leaders discussed key areas of mutual interest and collaboration between Uganda and the United States.

President Museveni and his guest reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hailed Russia as a historically and ideological partner in Africa’s liberation struggle, emphasizing that Uganda’s relationship with Moscow extends far beyond defense cooperation.

The President made the remarks on Sunday, October 26, 2025, while officiating at a ceremony where the Russian Federation donated defense equipment valued at $53 million to the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF). He also launched the Military Mechanised Major Repair Facility at Gaddafi Military Barracks, Magamaga, and a workshop in Entebbe that is under construction.
