Terego hails Museveni over Uganda’s Socio-Economic transformation

Terego District residents and leaders have hailed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the NRM Presidential flag bearer, for his steady leadership in driving Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

They credited him for bringing peace, stability, and tangible development projects to the country, describing Terego as one of Uganda’s fastest-growing districts.

It should be noted that Terego is the newest District in Uganda that has witnessed rapid development under the leadership of President Museveni.

On October 14, 2025 President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also the Presidential Flagbearer of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), said the party doesn't seek cheap popularity but delivers tangible results that transform the lives of Ugandans.

Speaking to thousands of jubilant supporters during his Presidential campaign rally at Nyadri Urban Secondary School Grounds in Maracha District, the President said the recent connection of West Nile to the national electricity grid was not a cosmetic achievement but part of NRM’s deliberate strategy to industrialize and modernize Uganda.

Liberation War 1981-1986

This collection documents the Liberation / Bush War led by President Museveni from the initial attack on Kabamba Military School to the jungles of Luwero Triangle.

On February 6, 1981 a group of 41 men, led by President Yoweri Museveni drove along Masaka-Nyendo-Katigondo-Ssembabule road in an old truck with one mission, to attack Kabamba Military Barracks and grab as many guns as possible so that they start a revolution to overthrow President Milton Obote.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni said that the greatest achievement of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government is the peace that enabled Ugandans who had fled into exile in neighbouring countries to return home and rebuild their lives.

Addressing supporters at a campaign rally in Koboko District, President Museveni recalled that when the NRM captured power in 1986, “almost the whole of Koboko was empty.” He narrated that as he drove up to Olaba border with South Sudan, he could see Ugandans peeping from across the border in fear.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni pledged to settle what he called the government’s “two major debts” to Obongi District, electricity connection and road infrastructure.

While addressing thousands of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters at Lionga Grounds, Obongi on Friday, October 17, 2025, the President, who is also the party Presidential flagbearer, said the government had already secured funding to bring electricity to the district and tarmacking key roads would begin within the current financial year.
