President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who is also the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential candidate in the 2026 general elections, resumed his nationwide campaigns on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, with a grand entry into the West Nile sub-region, addressing thousands of supporters in Pakwach District.

President Museveni meets Lango Paramount Chief and Clan Leaders

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met and held discussions with the Lango Paramount Chief (Won Nyaci) Eng. Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune and clan leaders on October 7, 2025.

During a meeting held at State House Entebbe, President Museveni warmly welcomed the guests urging them to promote the local language, culture, education, health, transform the society through development and create peace.

President Museveni Awards Distinctive Elders

On September 18, 2025, President Yoweri Museveni awarded a group of distinctive elders inspiring Ugandans due to their contributions to the nation’s socio-economic transformation agenda. 

The exceptional elders, including prominent industrialists, farmers, activists, educationalists, religious leaders, philanthropists, health workers, intellectuals and lawyers, were awarded during the National Mentorship Day Awards ceremony held at State House Entebbe. 

When Museveni released a rap song

In October 2010, President Museveni released a rap song. To President Museveni, music is not just for his ears, it is close to his heart, he released a hip-hop song ‘Another Rap/Mpenkoni’, that did not just play in local clubs and media, but it also caught the attention of the international media. 

Ugandan music lovers danced to the song, by the country's president, Yoweri Museveni.

The song and accompanying video, cobbled together from the president's speeches, became something of an Internet sensation, getting tens of thousands of views on YouTube. 

President Museveni Receives Honorary Doctorate

On December 12, 2010, Makerere University awarded Honorary Doctorate to President Museveni. President Yoweri Museveni received his Honorary Doctorate of Laws Award Letter from The Chancellor Makerere University, Prof. George Mondo Kagonyera.
