Museveni swears in for the Fourth Presidential Term

In Febuary 2011, the Electoral Commission chairman, Badru Kiggundu, announced Museveni's victory with 68.38 percent of the votes, putting him way ahead of the national average needed to secure victory in the presidential elections. He was later sworn in as the President of the Republic of Uganda on 5th May hence begining his forth term in office. 

Capture of Kampala

On January 26, 1986, Museveni's National Resistance Army (NRA) fighters captured Kampala after a five-year guerrilla war known as the Ugandan Bush War, leading to the establishment of a new government under Museveni's leadership. 

The NRA forces successfully captured the city from the retreating Uganda National Liberation Army (UNLA), signaling a definitive victory. 

Born in Kyaamate

Way back in September 1944, Mzee Amosi Kaguta and Esteeri Kokundeka travelled from Kyaamate to a government hospital in Mbarara in preparation of the birth of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni a child that would later become a treasure of the nation and Africa as a whole.
The president was born on 15th September, 1944 the actual date which he struggled to find out in his youthful era. ln 1976 after the defeat of Idi Amin, Museveni started seeking for the exact date of birth starting from a hospital in Mbarara where he was born from, unfortunately the records were not available.
